Rebuilding schooling
In 2012, a cyclone hit the island of Madagascar and destroyed many schools.
CARE's objective is to improve these educational conditions while integrating a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) dimension.
The project, therefore, includes the reconstruction of 11 schools as well as the training of more than 188 teachers. Appropriate educational books are also provided to primary school students.
As the families are very poor, the role and involvement of parents in the schooling of their children will be strengthened.
CARE is also training village savings and micro-credit associations to help parents find financial support for their activities.
Finally, 8 clubs have been set up for the RRC.
